The Western Front Commander of the War of Independence and the victor of the First and Second Battles of Inonu. He played a key role in the establishment of the regular army and the suppression of rebellions (such as Cerkez Ethem). Beyond his military genius, he made the world accept Türkiye's full independence through the unyielding and iron-willed diplomacy he displayed at the Mudanya Armistice and especially at the Lausanne Peace Conference. He is Mustafa Kemal's closest confidant, trusted person, and number one political and executive ally in the implementation of the reforms.
He was trained as a staff officer in the Ottoman army and achieved successes on important fronts in World War I. He tried to provide service to the national resistance within the Ministry of War in Istanbul, moved to Anatolia, became Mustafa Kemal's right-hand man, and laid the foundations of the regular army.
Portrays a modest yet determined pasha; petite, serious in his uniform, carefully observing everyone despite being deaf.
Çerkez Ethem
The individual he could not tolerate because he disrupted the determination of the regular army and whom he personally destroyed in the field.
Mustafa Kemal Atatürk
He is the sole man who acted not only under his command but as if fully integrated with his spirit and intellect.
Rauf Bey (Hüseyin Rauf Orbay)
The head of government whom he believed was a hindrance in Lausanne, whom he found incompetent, and with whom he experienced political hostility.
