Around the Moon — 4 karakter
Impey Barbicane
He is the true leader behind the sending of the projectile to the Moon and the president of the Gun Club. He has a flawless mind, a serious stance, and an unwavering belief in scientific principles. During the journey, he performs the most critical calculations and uses the projectile like a laboratory against the dangers of the outside world. He explains events and deviations in a calm language through algebraic and physical equations. He is relied upon for every difficult decision the team makes. He accepts even the danger of being stranded in space or failing to land on the Moon with the composure of a scientist.
J.-T. Maston
Gun Club's fiery secretary J.-T. Maston is the most loyal friend left behind when the projectile is launched into space. He has a passion for firearms rather than rocket science. He has taken the task of observing events with a giant telescope. He is so attached to his friends that when he realizes the projectile has fallen into the Ocean, he mobilizes all resources to save them. He often gets excited because of his scientific passion.
Michel Ardan
French adventurer Michel Ardan is a bold, unique artist who personally proposed the Moon journey and joined the project. He tries to create a festive atmosphere in the projectile despite all the mathematical seriousness and mortal dangers. He prepares meals, makes jokes, and shows interest in the dogs. He describes events in the sky with his own artistic vision and imagination. He is a poetic figure who doesn't care much for the laws of physics, focuses on living the moment and beauty, and keeps the group's morale cheerful.
Captain Nicholl
The third person on the projectile. Although he was once Barbicane's sworn enemy, he shook hands with his rival due to his passion for the space destination and joined this deadly journey. He has a major share in the team's engineering, calculation, and navigation checks. He knows mathematical terms like the back of his hand; he is an extremely orderly, rigid, yet cool-headed officer. He speaks with a logic appropriate to the seriousness of the situation and always refutes Ardan's dreamer arguments within mathematical boundaries.
